Inspections

Smarter Inspections. Safer Operations.
Foley Specialty Services uses advanced drones and robotics to inspect hard-to-reach areas quickly, safely, and without costly downtime. Our cutting-edge technology delivers precise data, helping you maintain asset integrity, ensure compliance, and keep operations running at peak performance.
Key Benefits
No hazardous entry, scaffolding, or rope access needed.
Fast deployment with real-time data.
Meets API standards and supports audits.
External Ultrasonic Testing
We deliver next-generation non-destructive testing by combining the expertise of our API-certified inspectors with the industry-leading platform, Voliro NDT drone. This innovative technology allows us to perform precise, high-quality inspections at height without scaffolding, rope access, or extended shutdowns.
Key Advantages:
- Any Orientation - Capable of rotating 180 degrees for measurement taking at any angle or height.
- Stable & Reliable - Thrust-vectoring and semiautonomous control gives the stability needed for reliable interactions.
- Modular Payload - Easily swap the payload sensor for different types of measurement collection.
NDT Payloads
- Dry Film Thickness (DFT) - Ideal for monitoring surface coating thickness.
- Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducer (EMAT) - Ideal for corroded and dirty surfaces with no surface preparation needed.
- Ultrasonic Transducer (UT) - Echo-to-echo and pulsed echo test mode with live A-scan viewing.
- Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) - Designed for insulated surfaces.

Confined Space Nondestructive Testing
Using the Flyability Elios 3 UT, Foley Specialty Services performs high-accuracy, location-tagged ultrasonic thickness inspections in areas where traditional methods are unsafe or impractical. Its collision-tolerant design allows safe navigation inside confined spaces like tanks, boilers, vessels, and stacks, while the UT payload delivers reliable wall-thickness readings with real-time A-Scan validation. All measurements are mapped in a 3D digital twin for precise documentation, repeatable inspections, and smarter maintenance planning.
Key Advantages:
- High-Accuracy UT Measurements – Captures reliable wall-thickness readings backed by real-time A-Scan validation.
- Location-Tagged Data – Automatically maps each measurement within a 3D digital twin for easy tracking and repeatability.
- Versatile Probe Configurations – Adjustable arm and multiple probe options for different inspection scenarios and surfaces.
- Integrated Couplant System – Remotely dispenses ultrasound gel precisely where needed for consistent readings.
Surface Preparation Payload
Interchangeable module that cleans inspection points by removing dust, rust, and debris to ensure proper surface interaction.
External Visual
At Foley Specialty Services, we provide high-precision visual external inspections using advanced drone technology without the cost or risk of traditional access methods. Internal/Confined Space Visual
We provide safe, efficient inspections for confined or hazardous spaces without human entry. Our collision-tolerant drone platforms use advanced LiDAR mapping, 4K cameras, and dust-proof onboard lighting to capture clear, high-resolution visuals while building a precise 3D digital twin of the interior. Features like Return-to-Home ensure safe retrieval, while our expertise delivers actionable, repeatable inspection data to keep assets compliant and operational.
Use Cases
- Above Ground Storage Tanks
- Boilers & HRSGs
- Pressure Vessels
- Stacks & Chimneys
- Silos & Storage Bins
- Pipelines & Large-Diameter Ducts
- Underground Sewers & Chambers
- Marine & Offshore Applications
Pipe Crawler Inspections
Our pipe crawler inspections deliver safe, detailed assessments of piping from the inside, without the need for costly excavation or hazardous entry. Using advanced robotic crawlers with high-resolution cameras and sensors, we can visually detect corrosion, blockage, and other issues before they become critical. This non-destructive method helps ensure pipeline integrity, regulatory compliance, and reliable performance.

Underwater (ROV) Inspections
Foley Specialty Services uses advanced Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) to perform safe, efficient, and detailed inspections in submerged or hazardous aquatic environments. These tethered, remotely controlled platforms are equipped with high-resolution cameras, sonar, and specialized sensors to assess structures such as ship hulls, offshore platforms, subsea pipelines, water tanks, and dam walls without the need for diver entry. ROV inspections deliver clear visual and measurable data in real time, reducing safety risks, minimizing operational downtime, and enabling precise maintenance planning in environments that are difficult or dangerous to access.
